MKL App Design (“we,” “us”) publishes Studybara. This policy describes what information the app handles.
Summary
- Anyone can use the app without an account. Accounts and study groups are for ages 13 and up.
- Signing in is optional. Personal study data stays on your device.
- We do not sell your information or use ads or tracking.
- Crash reports go to Sentry and are not linked to your account.
If you never sign in
Your to-dos, sessions, tags, coins, inventory, room, capy, settings, and age-check result stay on your device. Only automated crash reports may leave the device (see below).
If you sign in
We store your user id, display name, email (which may be an Apple private relay address), email-verified flag, sign-in provider and its account id, and created/updated times on our server (Microsoft Azure, United States). We never store your password, profile picture, IP address, user agent, provider tokens, or date of birth.
Sessions use a random token and expiry; expired sessions are purged within 24 hours.
Study groups
We store group names, invite codes, memberships, join dates, group to-dos (title, priority, author, times), who completed which to-do and when, and your block list.
Other members see your name, join date, and the to-dos you add or complete — never your email. If you block someone, they are hidden from you; they are not told.
Age check
Accounts and study groups require age 13+. Before sign-in the app asks for your date of birth on the device. Only the result is kept, on the device; the date itself is not stored and nothing is sent to us.
Crash reporting
To keep the app working, it sends crash reports to Sentry. We use them only to find and fix errors (debugging). A report contains the device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace showing where the error happened. Reports are not linked to your account.
Safeguards: we strip user, installation, and device identifiers from reports, Sentry is set not to store IP addresses, and we never use crash reports to build a profile of anyone, contact anyone, or show ads.

No ads, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
Retention
Account data until you delete it. Database backups up to 7 days. Server logs up to 30 days.
Deleting your account
See Delete account. Deletion removes your account, sessions, provider links, memberships, completions, block list, and group to-dos you wrote; Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked when possible. Groups you own pass to the longest-standing member or are deleted if you were alone.
If we ban an account, a hashed copy of the email may be kept to prevent re-registration.
Reports
Reports are sent from your mail app to mklappdesign@gmail.com with group and member ids; we see your address and message.
Your rights
Contact us to access, correct, or delete account data. EU/UK: we are the controller; legal bases include contract (accounts and groups) and legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, crash diagnostics). You may complain to your regulator. Data is processed in the US. Signing in is not required to use the app. We do not make automated decisions about you.
California: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Do Not Track: we do not respond to DNT signals because we do not track users.
Children
Studybara is for everyone, including children. Everything you can do without an account—the timer, capy, room, coins, and personal to-dos—keeps its data on your device, so children can use it without sharing personal information with us. Crash reports (above) are used only to keep the app working.
Accounts and study groups are for ages 13 and up. A date-of-birth check on the device runs before sign-in, and users under 13 can’t create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. Parents can contact us at mklappdesign@gmail.com.
Security & changes
We use HTTPS and industry-standard practices. We may update this policy; the effective date will change.
